On 20 June 2013, the Same-Sex Marriage Bill 2013 SA was introduced in the South Australian
Parliament.

If the Bill is passed, it will enable same-sex adults who marry in South Australia to be registered
with the Births, Deaths and Marriage Office and receive a marriage certificate.

South Australia would then become the first Australian state to legalise same-sex marriage.
