Forced Marriage

AdminNews1 Comment

A Forced marriage is a marriage in which one or both of the parties is married without his or her consent or against his or her will.
There are new laws that criminalise forced marriage and these new laws were passed by the Australian Parliament on 27 February 2013.

There will now be a maximum penalty of seven years jail for anyone trying to force vulnerable people into marriage.
