Family Law – Electronic Filing of Family Law Documents
The Family Court of Australia has taken its next step towards a fully electronic court file. As of 1 November 2014, there will be new capacity for electronic filing with the introduction of the Application for Consent Orders.
Claire Naidu & Co, Lawyers and Mediators, are part of a group of family lawyers, who provide feedback and recommendations as to any improvements or changes for the online form. If you have any comments about the online form, you can contact the Family Court directly, or we can submit feedback on your behalf.
The Commonwealth Court Portal (CCP) enables parties to file documents online in family law matters. You can file your documents online from anywhere in the world. The Chief Justice of the Family Court of Australia announced at the National Family Law Conference in Sydney in October that the Court is committed to moving to an Electronic Court File and will replace the current paper-based processes.
Initially, divorce applications were permitted online. This has been expanded to a wide range of forms. The latest family law form due to become live on the Commonwealth Court portal is the Application for Consent Orders. This form is a family law form that can be used for both parenting (formerly known as custody and residence) and property matters.
