What is an example of where coaching is used?

Coaching can be used to help employees effectively resolve interpersonal conflict at work.

Where there is interpersonal conflict in the workplace, this can have ongoing consequences for the individuals involved and for the organisation.  While the individuals in the workplace may be great on subject matter, it can be helpful to know how to effectively deal with conflict when it arises.
Workplace conflict coaching can be a powerful strategy to provide your staff with the additional support and skills to assist them to effectively resolve conflict themselves.
Tell me more about Workplace Resolution Coaching

Workplace resolution coaching is a process that helps people, on a one on one basis, to develop and enhance their skills, knowledge and competencies, to then be more effectively engaged in the management of interpersonal conflict.

The process is a voluntary and it is a confidential process.  The process allows for a focus on the individual’s resolution goals that can also be framed in a way to support organisational goals.

Workplace resolution coaching can be utilised as early intervention strategy to assist staff to build skills needed for them to effectively manage and resolve any interpersonal issues that arise at work.

What would I want to engage a resolution coach?

Engaging an experienced and independent resolution conflict coach is an effective strategy to aid in:

  • Restoring relationships and conflict resilience - this can be particularly helpful if parties will have an ongoing relationship such as in a workplace or private or familial relationships.
  • Transforming current and future behaviour by developing individual interpersonal skills and building self-awareness.
  • Addressing the underlying causes of conflict not just the symptoms and identifying what other support services may be of assistance.
  • Helping those involved to understand the dynamics that led to issues.
  • Enabling the opportunity to develop options, strategies and the skills necessary for effectively managing conflict.
What will the coach do?

We support people who are want to resolve conflict and build their capability to effectively deal with conflict.

We can help the coachee (the person being coached) with:

  • considering the elements of conflict from different perspectives
  • understanding their choices in terms of how they might engage in conflict and resolution
  • understanding unhelpful ways of engaging in conflict
  • developing their goals and intentions
  • identifying steps they can take to reach those goals
  • learning methods and structure to accomplish what they want and achieving resolution goals
Is coaching counselling?

No.  Coaching does not provide therapy or counselling.  Coaching is present and future-focused and solution, task and action-oriented.
